EMR Phase 2.1 – Change Champions

March 11, 2022

Please join the EMR Change Champion Network!

Thank you for following our introduction to the new EMR ED system called FirstNet this week.

The EMR Phase 2 Team is currently building an EMR Change Champion Network and Emergency Medicine and Access representatives are needed!

The purpose of the network is to promote and encourage an understanding of EMR Phase 2.1, and it’s important that ED staff are involved to provide advice and suggestions from our unique point of view.

EMR Change Champions are sought from ED staff who:

  • Are interested in the EMR and the Phase 2.1 project and are keen to learn more
  • Can represent ED (you don’t have to be in a formal leadership role – and you can include this on your resume
  • Are generally seen as a ‘go-to’ person, with a strong network and ability to influence others

What is required of an EMR Change Champion?

  • Attend monthly 30 minute EMR updates (via zoom and hopefully some in person ones too!)
  • Share info with your ED colleagues and answer their questions (or ask the team)
  • Give the EMR Phase 2.1 team advice and suggestions and assist with testing if appropriate
  • Help prepare ED for Go-Live (e.g. set up practice areas, help run demonstration sessions etc.)
  • Become an EMR Super User if willing/appropriate

How to get involved?

  • Please discuss with your Manager and then fill out this short form
  • You will receive a welcome email and a calendar invitation for the first 30 minute Change Champion Network briefing to be held on Thursday 31st March at 3pm

For more information please visit the Change Champion page on the Digital Health information site.

Over the last three days you have learnt more about the EMR Phase 2.1 project and how it will affect us all in ED. If you haven’t already completed the EMR survey please do so today!
