SSU’s big move to level one fast track is going ahead!
Tomorrow morning on the 7th of October the SHED family will be conducting the big move of our SSU to the level one Fast Track area.
The model of care is an exciting hybrid of SSU and Fast track to allow for an increased footprint on the ground floor. This will allow for social distancing and increased safety for patients. The ward includes 16 staffed beds, including one treatment room and one plaster room (unstaffed). The nursing ratios of the SSU and Fast track pod will remain as 1:4- AM/PM and 1:6- ND – a total of four nurses every shift (plus NIC) with at least one ALS trained staff member.
A massive thank you to all of the staff who have been involved with the preparation of the transition. The SHED leadership team is once again amazed by the hard work of all staff members.
