Guideline/Process Details:
What is the Maternity Assessment Centre (MAC)?
The MAC provides assessment and management of pregnant women from 16 weeks gestation, and up to six weeks postpartum, for both planned and unplanned presentations. The MAC operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
Women >16 weeks gestation are advised to present directly to the MAC for any acute pregnancy related concerns, and when in labour. Ambulance Victoria (AV) will also take women >16 weeks gestation with pregnancy-related presentations, or who are in labour, directly to the MAC.
